About Omry
Omry Building Contractors is a family-run building company based in Didsbury, Manchester, with 25+ years in the trade. We design and build house extensions, loft and garage conversions, full renovations, kitchens and bathrooms, driveways and landscaping — one contractor from foundations to final certificates, with Gas Safe, NICEIC and FMB-registered work.
For over two decades local builders trusted us with their most important work. Now we work directly with homeowners, so you get that same experience without the middleman. Our own teams handle building, landscaping and metal fabrication, so you deal with one company from the first drawing to sign-off.

Questions we get asked
Do I need planning permission for a house extension in Manchester?
Many single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development. Double-storey, side and wraparound extensions usually need a planning application. We check this at the site visit and handle the application and building regulations for you.
How long does an extension or loft conversion take?
A single-storey extension typically takes 8–12 weeks on site; a double-storey 12–16 weeks; a dormer loft conversion 6–10 weeks. We give you a written programme with the quote.
Are you Gas Safe and NICEIC registered?
Yes. Our plumbing and gas work is Gas Safe registered and our electrical work is NICEIC certified, so you receive the certificates you need for insurance and resale.
Do you handle building control and certificates?
Yes. Building control sign-off, Gas Safe and NICEIC certificates are part of every job, not an extra. You get the full set at handover.
